NEPA Engagement | Union Dale, PA {Brynna & Brent}

These two have quite the love story! They met in Alaska getting ready for a wedding they were both standing up in {Brynna was the maid of honor; Brent was the best man}, and when Brent got off the plane and saw Brynna waiting, it was pretty much love at first sight. These two worked side by side for a week finishing the wedding details when the bride got sick, and during that time together, they decided to start dating as well. There was one BIG problem…Brynna was leaving for Mexico in two weeks to live and teach for two years. So, they ended things while Brynna was out of the country to allow her to better adjust to the culture and life in Mexico and focus on relationships and teaching there. And Brent, every now and again, emailed her, found out how she was doing, prayed for her, and thought about her…A LOT! Brynna, not wanting to give false hope, carried on with life in Mexico, compared guys she dated to Brent, and emailed him back, every now and again. Fast forward 3 1/2 years, with Brynna back in the country and living and working out of state. Brent asked if they could meet up over Christmas, have coffee, and chat (well, something like that). And…to make a long and very interesting story short, they met up, still had feelings for each other, and started dating again {insert cheering, here!}. They got engaged on Memorial Day and are getting married Labor Day weekend, with only a few months to plan, but a lifetime to love! It’s a sweet, but complicated love story, and to make it even better, as Brynna’s mom, I got to capture this love in pictures. We decided on a “travel” theme, since much of B & B’s story revolves around travel, and we are so thankful that God brought them around the world and back together again! And…btw…B & B found out they were raised only 45 minutes away from each other when they met in Alaska!  {“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.} Isaiah 55:8engagement session-7engagement session-9engagement session-10engagement session-11engagement session-14engagement session-16engagement session-21engagement session-22engagement session-23engagement session-25engagement session-27engagement session-28engagement session-30engagement session-32engagement session-33engagement session-40engagement session-41engagement session-42engagement session-43engagement session-45engagement session-46engagement session-1-2engagement session-3-2engagement session-4-2

NEPA Wedding at Irem Clubhouse {Alyson+Jimmy}

We met Alyson & Jimmy at Ricketts Glen for their engagement shoot, and it was of our favorites (well…maybe I say that about every shoot) but we had a great time with them and could not have asked for better scenery  or a nicer couple. Everything came together for their wedding day, too-beautiful fall weather, gorgeous colors, all the bridal party (24 or 25…I really couldn’t count them all!), and a great day to celebrate these two tying the knot–and celebrate they did! We loved being with them and getting some great shots of their special day. Alyson & Jimmy-we wish you all the best and a big congratulations to you guys!a-1a-2a-3b-1b-2b-3bridal-party-1bridal-party-2bridal-party-8wedding-ceremony-6wedding-ceremony-12wedding-ceremony-18wedding-photography-3wedding-photography-16wedding-photography-20wedding-photography-33wedding-photography-35wedding-photography-37wedding-photography-43wedding-photography-47wedding-photography-51wedding-photography-64wedding-photography-86wedding-photography-92wedding-photography-96wedding-photography-113y-1y-2y-3y-4

NEPA Wedding at Creekside Grove {Matt+Jenny}

Matt & Jenny are an adventurous, fun-loving couple who enjoy the outdoors, gardening, their dogs, and road trips. They wrote their own vows, planned a beautiful wedding at Creekside Grove in Lenoxville, PA, and were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day for this special day in their lives! We were able to take a quick stop at Gin’s Tavern (Jenny’s uncle owns and runs it) and had fun getting some pictures of the girls at the bar. We were unexpected entertainment for the patrons as we tried to move tables, take pictures, and leave before the groom showed up (he couldn’t see the bride)! So, it was a bit crazy, lot of fun, wonderful celebration!1-1 1-3 gr-841-7 2-1 2-2 2-3 2-4 2-5 wedding-1 wedding-2 wedding-3 wedding-4 wedding-5 wedding-6 wedding-7 wedding-8 wedding-9 wedding-10 wedding-11 wedding-12 wedding-13 wedding-15 wedding-16

NEPA Wedding at Irem Clubhouse {Cailin+Mike}

These two engineers, who met at Stevens Institute of Technology, got married on an absolutely gorgeous day in July and we had a lovely time capturing beautiful pictures of their special day! We first met this bride and groom on their wedding day as, uncharacteristically, we were not able to meet them before due to logistics and distance. And yes, I got a bit nervous as a week before the wedding we were still trying to figure out the timeline with them. But it all worked out well, they were married in the beautiful St. Therese’s Church  in Shavertown, and then partied at the picturesque Irem Clubhouse in Dallas. We loved telling your wedding day story in pictures, Cailin and Mike, and wish you all the best as Mr. & Mrs!wedding photographyflowers, wedding photographygrils, bridal partybridal party, guysbride and groom, wedding photography, flowersbride and groom, wedding photographybride and groom, wedding photographywedding photography, bride and groombride and groom, wedding photographybride and groom, wedding photographybride and groom, wedding photographywedding photography, bride and groomwedding photographywedding photography, bridal partybridal party, wedding photographywedding photographywedding photographywedding photographyreception

NEPA Wedding at Shadowbrook {Brittney+Sean}

What do mini golf, the number 12, a golf resort, and a wedding have in common? When your first date, your engagement, and also your wedding are on the 12th of different months, and you love mini golf…you book a golf resort and have a fun wedding combining them all!

We had an exciting day with Brittney and Sean, although we had to avoid golfers and high wind incidents where the bride could have gotten injured by a flying pool umbrella (all the more memorable?). But Shadowbrook Resort helped tell the story of their time together, and was the perfect setting for their special day pledging themselves to each other as husband and wife. From taking photos on the mini golf course, to Sean chasing Brittney in the golf cart, to the table decorations, made by the bride, which were both beautiful and… golf-y, to the unusual cake (their favorite, a big brownie), we loved capturing images of this couple and who they are. And who they are together is just right!wedding photography2wedding photographywedding photography56wedding photographywedding photographywedding photographywedding photographywedding photographywedding photography13141516171820wedding photography

NEPA Engagement {Megan+Aaron}

We love to find out more about our brides and grooms, and these two love dancing, hiking, kayaking, and just spending time outdoors together, so we enjoyed getting some awesome photos of them at one of their favorite parks. They brought along their dog, Cash, and we went through a few contortions trying to get him in some pictures with them 🙂 but it all worked out great. We are looking forward to capturing your wedding day, Megan and Aaron, and photographing those ‘megawatt’ smiles you have when you are together. Sneak Peek~Megan & Aaron

These two were so much fun to shoot, along with their hyper-crazy dog, Cash! We were able to visit and get to know each other a bit before their big day in July, and Megan and Aaron squeezed their engagement shoot in right before closing on their first home together. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and your new home! We are so happy for you and are looking forward to capturing your special day!!engagement shootengagement shootengagement shootengagement shoot

NEPA Engagement {Alyson+Jimmy}

After a bit of a crazy start with trying to set up an engagement shoot, we met Alyson and Jimmy at Ricketts Glen, a beautiful park with waterfalls, bridges, and rock steps. Alyson hikes at the park and suggested it as a setting, and it was perfect! It was also a warm, sunny day in NEPA (and we had not had many of those yet this spring), so that made it even better.

Engagement shoots are fun because we have a more relaxed setting to get to know the bride and groom before their wedding and find out what makes them special as a couple. That helps all of us on their wedding day! So we laughed, had fun, got to know each other a bit, and we are really looking forward to photographing Alyson and Jimmy on their wedding day!

NEPA Engagement {Jenny+Matt}

Jenny & Matt’s love story proves that timing is everything! As they put it…”two souls searching for paths and careers in a new city,” and they found each other. They have had their bumps on the road, but always ended up back together.

These two know how to speak without words and we love that about their images! We loved taking and editing their photos and getting to know them a bit before shooting their wedding this summer. As photographers, we highly recommend an engagement shoot with your couple before the wedding, as it allows you to work together, get comfortable with each other, and learn the personalities of the bride and groom so you can customize their wedding poses and know better how to capture them.

We loved meeting another bride & groom here at the farm and having some time to spend with them. Jenny & Matt, you have quite a story, and I think it shows in your photos. Thanks for the privilege~we cannot wait to share your wedding day with you!

Pregnancy

They say pregnancy makes you (more) beautiful and it is a delight to be able to capture the glow and radiance of this mom-to-be, and the love between the soon-to-be daddy and mommy through pictures! I realize (having been pregnant with five of my own) that we don’t always “feel” beautiful during pregnancy, may be sick for months, and may be tired all the time, but the pride and joy of carrying a precious baby shines through in most women and is lovely to catch on camera. It was my privilege to be able to photograph Matt and Elizabeth and their gift from God this pregnancy brings.  ~KayImageImageImageImageImageImage
